The ICD-U40 is a convenient and cost effective In-Circuit Serial Programmer
(ICSP) for Microchip's FLASH based PIC microcontrollers. For owners of CCS
PCW or PCWH
the ICD-U40 is also a complete In-Circuit Debugging solution for PICmicros with
built-in ICD features. Stand-alone control software
(screen shot)
is provided with the unit for those without PCW/PCWH who wish to use only its ICSP
programming capability. The stand-alone software also allows the ICD-U unit's firmware
to be updated via its integrated bootloader. Updates to both the ICD Software
and Firmware are downloadable and free. A Plug-and-Play USB connection to the PC
is not only fast and convenient but the USB also provides power to the ICD-U
avoiding the need for a wall power adapter. Any PIC Development Kit with a
Microchip ICD or ICD2 style connection is compatible with the ICD-U including
our PIC Prototyping Board.
Features:
Low cost
Snappy 40MHz operation
Fast Plug-and-Play USB connection
In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) allows programming in the target circuit
Optional PCW/PCWH adds comprehensive C source level debugging
Pin compatible with any target that accepts Microchip ICD connections
Can optionally power a 5 volt development board (internal jumper setting)
Programs all FLASH based Microchip PICmicros
Programs Data EEPROM
Includes ICD Software with Windows Help files for use without PCW/PCWH
Free ICD Software and USB Driver updates
Integrated bootloader for easy Firmware updating/swapping
